Artisaire Tells All
We've got the streamers hung and the presents wrapped - because today is our 1st Anniversary!
One year ago today we launched Artisaire - a place for lovers of weddings, stationery and wax seals to come together. What a year it's been!
Since launch we've seen many new faces around here and wanted to introduce ourselves and share some extra special sneak peeks of what we've got planned for 2019!
What better way than a little Artisaire Tells All? (... you're welcome Bachelor fans!)
Question #1: Who Are you?
Hi Everyone! We are the Artisaire Team!
Totally obsessed with good food, great wine, playing with our pups and covering everything we can find with wax seals - there are 30 of us in the Artisaire Team!
Always brainstorming new ideas, like the newest recipe for our next potluck, or how to enjoy more wine and wax seals (preferably at the same time) - our entire team is connected by our love for what we do - and for that we are so lucky!
There are three main spokes to the Artisaire wheel:
Production - bubbly, vivacious and passionate, these ladies personally produce, engrave, and ship every stamp, stick of wax and wax seal that leaves our office! Often playing their favorite 90's party playlist or listening to the latest crime seeker podcast, this group is the heart and hands behind the products you receive!
Sales - a group of total sweethearts, these ladies are the eyes and ears behind your Artisaire experience! Experts in all things wax seals, ordering and shipping - we promise you are in the best of hands with this group!
Marketing: Summed up in one word - "firecrackers" - this group is constantly shaking things up! Whether you chatted with us on Instagram; worked with me on one of our partnership programs; entered one of our giveaways; used our website; or have simply fallen in love with our products, we've got some exciting things for you in 2019 - so stay tuned!
Question #2: how did you get your start in wax seals?
When we tell people what we do - this is usually the #1 question we get asked - "Wow! How did you get into wax seals?"
Our start in wax seals was born by our founder, Darsh Thomsen. A lover of all things weddings, wedding heirlooms and family keepsakes, Darsh wanted to build a brand that would blend all those worlds together.
Wanting to bring beautiful pieces together that would help tell your love story - wax seals (and the rest of our products at Artisaire) were the perfect fit!

Question #3: have you always worked in the wedding industry?
No, we haven't!
Believe it or not, we've worked in everything from small business; pharmaceuticals; wedding photography; retail management; tourism; and even IT!
We were first introduced to the wedding industry through our sister brand, WaxSeals.com. Spending the last 10 years fully immersed in wax seals, weddings and stationery, we wanted to create a new brand full of all the pieces needed for an artful wedding - and the artful life you and your partner will live together!
We are grateful for this amazing community every day - and couldn't imagine being anywhere else!
Question #4: Where did the name artisaire come from?
Our great ideas usually come to us on Friday afternoons!
Usually involving lots of coffee (is it possible to have too much? Let's be honest...) and every single whiteboard in the office - the name Artisaire was born one such Friday afternoon.
We knew the feeling we wanted our brand name to create - light, airy, creative, full of love, inspiration, and endless possibility - but getting there is usually easier said than done - amiright?
So with dry erase markers at the ready - we took to the whiteboards!
Using every inch of space we could find, we started writing names. Good, great, terribles, and even those who shall not be named!
After two hours of brainstorming, we took our favorites to the design phase, quite literally stumbling across "Artisaire", and fell in love with it immediately.
The funniest part? Artisaire had been written on the whiteboard 3 different times by 3 different team members!
I guess what they say is true - great minds really do think alike!
Question #5: Where are you located and where do you ship to?
We work, live and play in Victoria, BC Canada and offer worldwide shipping services for all our international friends!
A Few Fun Facts:
Question #6: where are your products made?
We make all of our wax seal products 100% in-house in Victoria, BC Canada!
All of our Wedding Shop Products are thoughtfully sourced from our incredible design partners around North America!
Question #7: Where does your inspiration come from?
Oh goodness - so many places!
Branding, interior design, architecture, floral design - you name it!
If you've been with us for a while you'll know that one of our biggest sources of inspiration is our community!
Our favorite things is to follow our products from your initial design of your wax seal - to the creation of it - and then finally the finished piece of stationery at the end!
Seeing what you create with our products and finding ways to help your creative process is another huge source of inspiration for us. Working with you to find new ways of using wax seals pushes us to create new methods and techniques for creating them - so thank YOU!
Question #8: Can you tell us a little more about your community? I'm a stationer and would love to collaborate with you!
Community is at the heart of what we do.
We started as a family run business and still identify so much with the victories, challenges and growing pains that come with building a brand from the ground up.
That is why community is at the heart of our brand - so we can do our part to support and showcase the artists who inspire us so much every day!
If you would like to become a member of our community - we would love to hear from you!
